Rushton’s Beach is one of my go to beaches. Its about 1.5 hours from home. It is on the Northumberland Strait, so for the most part the water and air tend to be the warmest at the start of the summer season. My first trip this year was June 26th and the water was just right.
Located on the Sunrise Trail in the little community of Marshville. Its about 20 mins from the town of Pictou. Lots of summer Cabins to rent in the area. There are cabins that are right on the beach. They look like a scene out of Nicholas sparks novel.

The walk to the beach is long. Its a very well groomed and level path, but its about 1 km from the parking lot to the beach shore. Part of the walk is along a board walk. There is a nice grassy picnic area, picnic tables. Be aware of poison ivy in the area. Its mostly located in the bushy areas that are not groomed, however some can sometimes grow up through the boardwalk boards.
