All I can say about this is WOW. What a beautiful discovery. Located in the cute little community of St. Peter’s Bay, on the other side of the bay that faces Greenwich beach.. and its free. Yup, no admission fees required. And what a beautiful lighthouse. It was so pretty to walk up the trail to the beach and have this amazing lighthouse greet you at the mouth of the beach access.

Naturally I had first seen photo’s of this beach on facebook. I am still amazed at how many beaches there are in PEI that I have yet to discover or have not heard about. My sister and I packed up a day picnic and headed out. Its about 45 mins from our cottage in Murray Harbour, but well worth the drive.
The day was perfect, the water was so warm. The beach was a gradual shoreline, lots of sandbars. The beach was long and large. It’s located on the north shoreline beaches, so it did not disappoint. We swam for most of the day, the water was clear and blue. We had so much fun exploring, walking the beach.
We walked to the other end and discovered a whole cottage community that had direct access to this amazing shoreline, how lucky.
- From Route 2, east of Morell, turn north on St. Peter’s Harbour Road
- After 1.3 miles, turn right on Lighthouse Road
- Follow Lighthouse Road to the end to find the lighthouse
Once you see the lighthouse, you have found the trail head to the beach. There is limited parking, but it’s not an overly popular beach, so parking was not too much of an issue.
- limited parking
- no facilities
- no lifeguards
- lots of sun
- lots of sand and swimming
- great for paddle boards
- Free admission
A must see, more like a local beach. So you will have the true PEI beach experience, especially with the lighthouse being the main vocal point.
