July 9th 2024. Welcome to Parlee Beach. If you like a crowded beach… then this is the beach for you. It was a warm overcast day, but the beach was still bumpin’ . There is something to be said about the energy that flows at beach full of people. Located on the Pointe-du-Chene, Shediac, Parlee Beach is said to have the warmest waters north of the Carolina beaches. Of course, it is located on the Northumberland straight, so yeah for sure… but the warmest… thats debatable to all the other Northumberland beaches.
I have been to Parlee beach a few times in my life. First way back in 1989 when the first “Parlee Beach” music festival was held. And it was right at the beach. The main band was none other than the Beach Boys. It was quite the concert. Something that big had never been held in our area of Canada. I also had the pleasure of seeing Brain Adams, The Steve Miller Band in 1992 and Def leppord, Meatloaf in 1993. Also an extremely awesome experience. It has since hosted a number of concerts and bands over that last 40 years.

There is a lot to see and do at this beach. The water was great for swimming, the beach was great for walking. There is a beach volley ball court area. The best part was the beach bar. They have an area roped off that you can enjoy a beer, wine or cocktail. I think more beaches need to offer this feature.
Besides being a great venue for concerts, the provincial beach also offers:
- top of the line facilities, wheelchair access, change rooms
- volley ball courts
- beach bar and restaurant
- lifeguards
- campground
- picnic area
- playground area with swings.
