September 17th 2024….. I always remember that last date of my last swim for the season, and what an incredible beach to spend those last hazy days of summer…. Summerville beach.. lol.
We were camping for a week at Kejimkujik national park and decided to take a drive over to Summerville beach for the day. It was a hot beautiful day, I think about 27.c, a nice late summer heat. The water was beautiful, a little crisp, but not enough that it kept me from swimming for most of the day.
It was a Tuesday, so the beach was pretty quiet without a lot of people. Just the way I like it. There is about 1.5 km of beautiful white soft sand that you can walk. The shoreline is big.
The Quarterdeck Hotel is located at the start of the park and is an amazing place to stay. We did a little over night trip in March of 2022. The beach was just as pretty then… maybe a bit colder.

At the other end is a little channel. Most People were actually settled in that spot. Lots of Paddle boarding and swimming in the channel, I guess because it was warmer than the ocean.
Overall it was a perfect beach day. Beautiful hot sun, beautiful white sand and beautiful turquoise colored water.
