Poverty Beach, PEI

August 2024. A great little spot located on the way to Panmure. The day I went I was the only one there. It is about 20 mins from my cottage but I can see it across the water from the cottage. It had rained hard the night before and the sand still had the marks in it from the rain. It feels really crunchy when you walk across it.

Its located at the end of Poverty Beach Rd. Lots of cottages, used primarily by locals. It was nice to have the whole beach to myself. Shoreline is long and has an area that you can drive your car down to the sand.

There is also remnants of an old pier that still has some cement and wooden pillars sticking out of the water and on the shore. Not a big deal, but just watch for any left over metal sticking out.

It was great to have the beach to myself. Perfect for just relaxing, reading my book, getting a long walk in and of course just soaking up some good old sunshine.

  • some sand bars
  • shallow and deep shoreline
  • no facilities
  • limited parking
  • peaceful
  • relaxing
  • great for beach combing
  • about 20 mins from Montague

I am a beach lover. Going to the beach is what I do best. My soul dreams of warm water waves in the winter. Diving into the salt water is healing of mind, body and soul. Standing on the edge of earth, the softest earth, as it meets the sea is magical.
